ASTM A213 T11 Tube Price
ASTM A213 T11 tube pricing is between ₹120 and ₹355 per kilogram or $1.50–$4.50/kg. The final price depends on outside diameter, wall thickness, length, quantity, heat treatment condition, and current alloy surcharges. Cr-Mo alloy tubes cost more than plain carbon steel due to chromium and molybdenum content. Smaller diameters typically command a higher per-kilogram rate because of greater manufacturing complexity. ASTM A213 / ASME SA-213 T11 Chemical Composition
ASTM A213 T11 is a 1.25Cr-0.5Mo-Si low-alloy ferritic steel with chromium and molybdenum as its principal alloying additions. The controlled balance of these elements provides oxidation resistance and creep strength at temperatures beyond the capability of plain carbon steel.
ASTM A213 T11 Tube Mechanical Properties
ASTM A213 T11 tube mechanical properties in the annealed or normalised and tempered condition are listed in the table below. The 30% minimum elongation confirms good ductility for cold bending and flaring operations during boiler fabrication.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile Strength (min) | 415 MPa (60 ksi) |
| Yield Strength (min) | 205 MPa (30 ksi) |
| Elongation in 2" (min) | 30% |
| Hardness (max) | 85 HRB |
ASTM A213 T11 Equivalent Grades
ASTM A213 T11 equivalent materials are listed in the table below. These international designations cover the same 1.25Cr-0.5Mo chemistry under different regional standards.

ASTM A213 T11 Tube Industrial Applications
ASTM A213 T11 seamless tubes are used in applications operating at temperatures up to 560-565 °C in power generation, oil and gas refining, chemical processing, and petrochemical plants. The 3 primary application sectors are listed below.
Power Generation and Boilers
T11 chrome-moly tubes are used in waterwall, superheater, and reheater sections of coal- and gas-fired plants, forming a key part of subcritical boiler systems.
Oil and Gas Refineries
Grade T11 tubes are used in refinery heaters and heat exchanger bundles handling hydrocarbons and hydrogen at elevated temperatures.
Chemical and Petrochemical Processing
SA-213 T11 tubes are installed in process heaters and reboilers within petrochemical plants for reliable high-temperature performance.
ASTM A213 T11 vs T22 Tubes
T11 (1.25Cr-0.5Mo) is suitable for service up to approximately 565 °C. While T22 (2.25Cr-1Mo) offers higher creep resistance for temperatures approaching 600 °C. T22 contains roughly double the chromium and molybdenum of T11, which increases its high-temperature strength but also raises material cost.
| Property | T11 (1.25Cr-0.5Mo) | T22 (2.25Cr-1Mo) |
|---|---|---|
| Chromium | 1.00 - 1.50% | 1.90 - 2.60% |
| Molybdenum | 0.44 - 0.65% | 0.87 - 1.13% |
| Tensile Strength (min) | 415 MPa | 415 MPa |
| Max Service Temp (ASME Sec I) | 560-565 °C | 649 °C |
| Creep Resistance | Lower | Higher |
| Relative Cost | Lower | Higher |
For boiler sections operating below 565 °C, T11 is the more cost-effective choice. Projects with higher-temperature zones often specify T22 for those sections.
Heat Treatment for ASTM A213 T11 Tubes
ASTM A213 T11 tubes are supplied in either full annealed or isothermal annealed condition, or in normalised and tempered (N+T) condition. For N+T delivery, the minimum tempering temperature is 650 oC (1200 oF). The heat treatment condition affects final mechanical properties and must be specified during placing an order.
