Stainless Steel 304 seamless pipe is an austenitic stainless steel pipe made from a solid billet, so it has no longitudinal weld seam. It is designated as TP304 under ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312 and identified as UNS S30400. The alloy contains 18.0-20.0% chromium and 8.0-11.0% nickel, with a maximum carbon content of 0.08%. The chromium forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the pipe from organic acids, mild industrial atmospheres and freshwater corrosion. The pipe has a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa (75 ksi), yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), and 35% elongation. With no weld seam, its wall thickness is uniform, and it can handle higher pressure. Sizes range from NPS 1/8" (10.3 mm OD) to NPS 24" (610 mm OD), in 6-metre lengths.
