Stainless Steel Perforated Sheet Price
SS sheets prices in the Indian market, prices range from Rs. 45-125 per sq ft. International prices are around $5 to $15 per square meter. Prices fluctuate based on several factors. These include the specific grade of stainless steel, the sheet's thickness, the hole pattern's configuration, open area percentage, overall sheet size, and quantity ordered. Grade 316L, with its molybdenum, commands a higher price than 304. Thicker gauges are more expensive per unit area compared to their thinner counterparts.
We offer competitive pricing for both standard stock sizes and custom orders. Contact our sales team with your grade, size, thickness, and perforation specifications for a current quotation.
Applicable Standards and Grades of Stainless Steel Perforated Sheets
SS perforated sheets are manufactured according to ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 standard. The following are some more standards it complies with.
| Standard (ASTM / ASME) | Common Grades Covered | Product Form |
|---|---|---|
| A240 / SA-240 | 254 SMO, 904L, Alloy 20 | Plate, sheet, and strip |
| B625 / SB-625 | 904L, Alloy 926 | Plate, sheet, and strip |
| B688 / SB-688 | AL-6XN | Plate, sheet, and strip |
Stainless Steel Perforated Sheet Grades
We supply perforated sheets in the following grades. Grade selection depends on the operating environment, corrosion exposure and budget.
Grade 202
Grade 202 is a lower-cost stainless steel with manganese, giving moderate corrosion resistance. It's mainly used for decorative and light industrial perforated sheet products.
Grade 304
Contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Works well across most general applications where corrosion resistance is needed without special requirements.
Grade 304L
Same as 304 but with a lower carbon content. Mainly used when welding is involved, as it avoids sensitisation at weld joints.
Grade 310
This grade has high chromium and nickel, so it resists heat and oxidation up to about 1150°C, making it suitable for furnaces and other high-temperature filtration uses.
Grade 316
Contains 2-3% molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to pitting and chlorides compared to 304.
Grade 316L
Low-carbon version of 316. Preferred for welded parts used in marine or pharmaceutical settings.
Grade 321
Grade 321 is titanium-stabilised, preventing intergranular corrosion in high-temperature perforated sheet applications up to 870°C.
Grade 409
Grade 409 is a widely used ferritic stainless steel for automotive exhausts and structural perforated sheets, with good oxidation resistance.
Grade 410
It is a martensitic grade offering high strength and moderate corrosion resistance for wear-resistant perforated sheet applications.
Grade 430
It is a ferritic grade with 16-18% chromium, which gives good corrosion resistance and formability for decorative and architectural perforated sheet applications.
Perforation Patterns & Open Area
Perforated stainless steel sheets use two main hole shapes, namely round and square. These can be set in staggered or straight patterns, with open area from 19% to 68%, depending on hole size, spacing, and layout.
Round Hole Patterns
Round hole perforated sheets are the most common type. Staggered patterns (Rv, 60°) give more open area than straight patterns (Rg, 90°). Typical hole diameters range from 1/16" to 1/2", with pitch from 1/8" to 11/16". Staggered round holes usually provide 19%-48% open area.
Square Hole Patterns
Square hole sheets use a straight grid pattern (Qg under DIN 24041). Hole widths range from 0.200" to 3/4", with pitches from 1/4" to 1". These screens are ideal for facilitating airflow or the passage of materials due to the extension of open spaces up to 68%. They're also a popular selection for both decorative and architectural uses.
Applications of SS Perforated Sheets
Perforated stainless steel sheets are used in many industries for filtration, building design, food processing, HVAC systems and general screening. They are a good choice for tough environments because they resist corrosion, allow controlled airflow or liquid flow through the holes, and still stay strong while being relatively light.
Industrial Filtration & Screening
Perforated stainless steel screens are used in water treatment, mining and aggregate processing. Round hole patterns provide a way to separate particles effectively and are also long-lasting.
Architectural Cladding & Facades
Architects specify SS perforated metal panels for building facades, sunscreens and interior partitions. Square hole patterns offer a clean geometric aesthetic, while open area percentages control light and ventilation.
Food Processing & Pharmaceutical Equipment
Perforated sheets satisfy the strict hygiene and chemical resistance standards needed in food and pharmaceutical production. Their low carbon content allows reliable welding and fabrication without reducing their corrosion resistance.
HVAC, Ventilation & Acoustic Panels
Perforated SS sheets function as air distribution grilles, return air covers and acoustic absorption panels. Open area and hole pattern selection directly influence airflow volume and noise reduction.
