Stainless Steel 316L HR Sheet is an austenitic stainless steel flat product manufactured to ASTM A240 / ASME SA240 (UNS S31603). SS 316L Hot Rolled Sheet contains 2.00– 3.00% molybdenum, which sets it apart from standard 304/304L grades by providing pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride-bearing environments.

SS 316L HR Sheet grade features 16.0– 18.0% chromium and 10.0– 14.0% nickel. We also limit the carbon content to a 0.030% maximum, which helps prevent sensitisation and maintains the metal's integrity. Carbide precipitation in heat-affected zones during welding is restricted by this low carbon ceiling, which establishes the "L" designation as the defining characteristic of the designation. Tensile strength must be at least 70 ksi (485 MPa), yield strength must be at least 25 ksi (170 MPa), and elongation must be at least 35%.
